Weed Killer Linked to Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma
The Kansas City product liability lawyers at Goza & Honnold are handling cases involving the use of the weed killer Roundup and the development of certain types of cancer. People who have been exposed to the active ingredient in Roundup, glyphosate, could be at risk of developing non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
Types of Cancer Linked to Roundup Use
Roundup is an herbicide made by the company Monsanto, which is a subsidiary of Bayer. Monsanto makes Roundup using the chemical glyphosate, which is potentially carcinogenic (cancer-causing). Our attorneys believe that Monsanto has known about the possible link between glyphosate and cancer for decades. Primary cancer associated with Roundup exposure is non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. However, subtypes of cancers are also linked to glyphosate exposure. The most common types of cancer associated with the use of Roundup include:
- Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma
- Large-Cell Lymphoma
- Diffuse Large-Cell Lymphoma
- Lymphocytic Lymphoma
- Mantle Cell Lymphoma
- Follicular Lymphoma
- B-Cell Lymphoma
If you have used Roundup and were later diagnosed with one of the above types of cancer, contact our office to discuss the possibility of pursuing a legal claim against the maker of Roundup.
Symptoms Associated with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma
Certain symptoms are associated with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and the other types of lymphoma that have been linked to glyphosate exposure. Those symptoms can include the following:
- Enlarged or swollen lymph nodes, especially in the neck
- Chronic cough
- Shortness of breath
- Chest pain
- Unexplained weight loss
- Fatigue
- Chills and sweating
- Fever
- Unexplained bruising or bruising easily
Symptoms like these should always be evaluated by a medical doctor.
